Daniel David Olson, 69, of Pine River, MN, passed away on February 3, 2008 at his home. He was born in Sugar Bush Township in Beltrami County on Feb. 13, 1938 to Fredrick and Millie (Newell) Olson. The family lived in Walker, MN until 1945 when they moved to Cass Lake. Daniel grew up South of Cass Lake in the Pike Bay area and attended Cass Lake Schools. He worked a variety of jobs including: Wheeler Lumber and Bridge, Soo Line Railroads, taxi cab driver for several years in Cass Lake, and construction at the Grand Forks Air Force Base. He also worked in the woods and numerous other jobs. For the past 15 years he has lived at the Pine River SLS and worked at the Pine River Area DAC. Prior to that he lived in Brainerd, MN for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, step father, David Fournier, and sister, Mable Olson. He is survived by his sister, Goodie (John) Eskridge of Bemidji, brothers Franklin (Mary) Olson of Surrey, BC, Canada, Odin Olson of Cass Lake, MN, and Louis (Gloria) Fournier of Cass Lake, MN, one aunt Grace Nyland of Bemidji, MN and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, his friends in Pine River and special friend, Dave Mueller. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008 at Kline Funeral Home in Pine River, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service.
