Daniel George Noerenberg, age 81, of Backus, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012, at his home. He was born to Ludwig and Lydia (Urbach) Noerenberg in Hollywood Township, Carver County, MN, on December 9, 1930. Daniel graduated from Watertown High School and served in the Marine Corp during the Korean War. He married Lorraine Schultz on February 23, 1952, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown. Daniel worked as a truck driver then as a welder at Advance Machine for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing and raising sheep.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Lorraine; son, Marc Noerenberg (Juliene); daughter, Debra Giese (Clifford); grandchildren: Jennifer Bachman (Randy), Camilia Gustafson (Luke), Stacy Noerenberg, Axel Noerenberg, Reuben Noerenberg, Ellen Noerenberg, Christopher Miller; great grandchildren: Lindsay Bachman, Brian Bachman, Quinten Miller; brother, Lewis Noerenberg (Sharon); one nephew and four nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, LeRoy Noerenberg, and one niece.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Backus, or Good Samaritan Society Home Care and Hospice.
Services will be 11 AM on Thursday, April 12, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Backus, with Pastor Ronald Carnicom officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Backus. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
