Daniel Davis, age 72, of rural Motley, passed away Friday, June 16, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his family. A gathering to celebrate Dan’s life will be held at the Davis residence in Staples/Motley, on Saturday, June 24, beginning at 3 pm.
Daniel Lee Davis was born April 26, 1945 in Muncie, Indiana, to MariLou (Lucas) and Milford Davis. He enlisted in the Army after high school, and served honorably for three years. He was married to Ruth A. Bauer in Las Vegas on February 26, 1966. The couple enjoyed 51 years together. They lived in the Brainerd area, and then had been in Staples/Motley for the past 20 years. Dan worked as a salesman at Nisswa Dock. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching football. Spending time with his family was especially enjoyable to Dan.
Dan is survived by his loving spouse, Ruth; his children, Becky Davis, of Brainerd, Danny (Kari) Davis, of Staples, Angie (Dale) Guderjohn, of Brainerd, and Maggie Borg (Dustin Honsey), of Baxter; 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Diane Davis, of Sun City, Arizona, Donnie Davis, of San Bernadino, California, and Dawn Davis, of Mariposa, California. His parents, Milford and MariLou Davis, preceded him in death. Services entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel and Cremation of Staples, 800-824-5051.
