Daniel Steven Chisholm, 55, of Pequot Lakes, died in an ultralite airplane crash Monday, July 21. He was born March 4, 1953 to Robert and Gladys (Noll) Chisholm. He married Patricia Speldrich on February 24, 1973 in Mahnomen, MN. Daniel served in the US Air Force for 2 years in Germany. He was active in the Ideal Fire Department for 26 years. He owned and operated Dan's Construction and Dan's Ideal Sharpening. He groomed trails for the Ideal Sno Pros for 25 years, also serving as trails coordinator for 20 years. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing trips with his friends and family. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years; daughters: Monica Lisburg (Robert) of Gary, MN, Christina Chisholm of Pequot Lakes, Jessica Halverson (Jesse) of Nisswa, Anna Chisholm of Motley; nine grandchildren; brothers: Pat (Penny), Jerry, Joe, and Alan (Peggy) all of Gary, MN; sisters: Susan Greene (Jim) of Dilworth, MN, Mary Mosher of Downer, MN; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew.
Services will be 11 AM on Friday, July 25 at St. Alice Catholic Church in Pequot Lakes with Father George Zeck officiating. Burial will follow at Pequot Lakes Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 PM at Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
