Daneen Olson

Daneen M. Olson, 76, of Staples, MN died on Monday, June 30, 2014 at Lakewood Health System in Staples, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples, MN, with Father Joe Korf officiating. Friends and family may gather one hour prior to service at the church for visitation.

Daneen was born on April 28, 1938 in Wadena, MN to Jack and Dolly (Plautz) Tappe. She attended grade school in Wadena and then graduated from Staples High School. Daneen was united in marriage to James Olson on September 27, 1956 in Staples. She was a secretary at Sacred Heart Church for many years, helped people file their income taxes and worked at various other businesses in the area. She enjoyed clerking auction sales for her husband Jim for over twenty years. Daneen enjoyed gardening, decorating for the holidays, dancing, canning, card parties and crossword puzzles, but was especially fond of her family and grandchildren.

Daneen is survived by her husband, Jim; children, Sharon (Craig) Peterson of Staples, MN, Doug (Nancy) Olson of St. Cloud, MN, Renae (Randy) Wilson of Motley, MN, Kathy (Kurt Wilson) Jennissen of Staples, MN, Debbie (Jim) Minnerath of Alexandria, MN; brother, Tom (Linda) Tappe; fifteen grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
