Dale Swenson

Dale Myron Swenson, 66, of Staples, MN went to join the Lord peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, March 29, 2018 after a long courageous battle with multiple health conditions at Lakewood Health System Hospital in Staples. Dale will be laid to rest at 11:00AM Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the Family Life Church in Verndale, MN with Pastor Amos Self officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation from 5-7PM, Monday, April 2nd at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, and one hour prior to service at the church on Tuesday. Interment will follow the funeral at West Lyons Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow at the church.

Dale was born October 2, 1951 to Myron and Marie (Pickar) Swenson in Wadena, MN. He was raised in Nimrod, MN. Dale served his country in the US Army from 1973-1975. In 1975, Dale was united with Wanda Burrell, they made their home by Leader, MN on the farm and they raised their four children. Dale enjoyed his animals and being self-employed in his logging career. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, auction sales, John Deere tractors, and spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. After retiring, Dale and Wanda made their home in Staples, MN. Dale was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.

Dale is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Swenson; his beautiful children, Jeannie (Perry) Liebl of St. Peter, Jason (Nikki) Swenson of Little Falls, Jennifer (Craig) Hove of Staples; two sisters, Gail (Dale) Betz of St. Peter, Georgia Cornelius of Bluegrass; and seven wonderful grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, “Boo”; his parents; one sister, Joyce; and several aunts and uncles. Services have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
