Dale Miller

Dale Miller, 77, of Pillager, Minnesota, passed away quietly at his home, on Thursday November 18, 2021. He was born on March 21, 1944 in Albert Lea, Minnesota.

He grew up in the Rice Lake Area, south of Wells. Dale graduated from Wells High School in 1962 and attended the University of Minnesota. He was active in many school activities including FFA, student council, Track & Field, and Cross Country.

Dale’s primary work history was 15 years at Almco/Scotsman, Kiester Coop Elevator and Bricelyn Agronomy as a manager, and FlexiCoil/CNH for 15 years.

After retirement, he also worked another eight years for Sorem Manufacturing in Nevada, Iowa.

Dale moved to Pillager, Minnesota about three years ago. He was so lucky to have had so many good friends and enjoyed contact with them. He also had a good friend, Wayne, who was a fishing partner and flew amateur airplanes in his spare time.

He is survived by his son, Jeff Miller (Dorie) of Joice, Iowa, his daughter Julie (Shawn) Helgeson of Lake Mills, Iowa, and son Thomas (Tasha) Miller, of Kiester, MN, his wonderful grandchildren Jaci Miller, Tyler, Karli, and Carter Helgeson, and Carter and Clara Miller. He was also very proud of his nieces and nephews.

Dale is thankful to his significant other, Gloria Salthe, who did so much to care for him with surgeries, chemo treatments, and caring for him at his home.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne Miller, his father Reuben Miller, and mother Dorine (Giese) Miller.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday December 10, 2021 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Wells Community Center in Wells, Minnesota.
