Dale Brown

Dale L. Brown, age 89, of Jenkins, passed away February 2, 2013, at the St. Cloud VA Care Facility. Dale was born February 27, 1923, in St. Paul, MN. He graduated from Pine River High School and served our country in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific, being engaged in the Battles of Okinawa and Iwo Jima. Dale worked for many years in the construction trade and built many homes in the Crosslake area. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 49 of Pequot Lakes. Dale enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing, camping, gardening and trips taken to Alaska and the Southern U.S. Dale will be remembered as a hard working, caring and humble person.

Dale is survived by his wife, Dorothy; stepson, Gary Brown of Jenkins; stepdaughter, Donna Rojina (Tom) of Winsted, MN; brothers: Richard Brown (Annette) of Flagstaff, AZ., Bill Brekke (Jan) of Pequot Lakes; sister, Joyce Tweed of Pequot Lakes; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Beulah Brown; brothers, Marvin and Robert; and friend, Evelyn Bugher.

Services will be 11 AM on Friday, February 8, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Pequot Lakes, with Pastor Donna Olsen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial with military honors will take place at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Pine River.
