Cynthia Sampson

d. August 21, 2006

Cynthia Kay Johnson was born March 11, 1947 in Knoxville, Tennessee, to Arney and Eleanore (Nephew) Johnson. Her father died when she was 13, and she moved to Duluth with her mother, to be near her grandmother. Eventually, her family lived in Crosby. She was married to Herman Burns in March of 1965; together, they had two children, Mike and Michelle. The couple later divorced. Cindy worked in a fast food restaurant in Brainerd. She was married to Mark Sampson, the love of her life, in Brainerd on February 14, 1998. They made their home in Brainerd. Cindy loved working with people. She worked as a home care aid in Crosby and also worked with the ambulance service there. At one time she owned a convenience store in Crosby. Cindy had also worked as a teachers aid at Ironton Elementary School. Health problems had kept her home for the past two years. Cindy is deeply missed by her husband, Mark; her children, Mike (Jenny) Burns and Michelle (Brian) Watson; Marks children, Angie Grannes, Andy (Melissa) Sampson, and Ashley Sampson; her grandchildren, Katrina and Eleanore Burns and Cuyler Watson; and a stepgrandson, Isaac Grannes. Her parents and a brother, David, preceded her in death.
