Curtis Johnson, age 62, of Fifty Lakes, passed away at his home. He was born to Lloyd and Elna Johnson on July 13, 1950, in Slayton, MN. Curtis graduated from Pequot Lakes High School in 1968. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Bronze Star, and was a charter member of the Crosslake American Legion. He was a lifelong resident of the Crosslake/Fifty Lakes area and worked at various jobs in and around Crosslake, Emily and Fifty Lakes.
Curtis is survived by his sisters, Delores Roll (Stan) of Park Rapids, Sally Larson (Russell) of Sebeka; and nieces and nephews: Lori, Steve, Katie, Jenny and Paul.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, and his four-legged friend, Snoops.
Committal service with military honors will be 11 AM on Monday, August 20, at Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery, Camp Ripley, followed by a gathering of friends and family at the Crosslake American Legion beginning at 1 PM.
