Constance Ford

May 7, 1922 — March 25, 2006

Constance Connie Ford, age 85, of Nisswa, died Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Woodland Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. Memorial services will be Monday, April 24, at 1 pm, at the Woodland Chapel, with Reverend Barb Christensen officiating. Burial will be at a later date, in Longville.
Constance Adelaide Ford was born May 7, 1922 in Longville, to James and Lucy (Thompson) Ford. She attended school in Longville until she moved with her family to Mizpah, near International Falls. She recovered from polio as a child. When she left home, she worked as a housekeeper in Minneapolis hotels. As they grew older, she and six of her siblings moved to a house in Nisswa, where they lived, worked, and helped each other. Connie had a large collection of ceramic cats and birds. She also collected photos clipped from newspapers and magazines and organized them into albums. She loved children, and many of her albums focused on large families. She enjoyed babysitting. She had been a resident at Woodland since 2002.

Connie is sadly missed by her siblings, Larry and Velma Ford, of Nisswa, Vera Ford, of Brainerd, Helen (Ernest) Tindell, of Farmington, Sandy (Arnold) Goodfellow, of Blue Earth, and Wilma (Russell) Edelbach, of Hayfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; four siblings, Phoebe, Leslie, Bill, Bernard, and Shelby; and two unnamed infant siblings.
