Connie Garlie

Connie Joyce Garlie, 80, of North Port, FL, peacefully passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Quiet Oaks Hospice in St. Cloud, MN.

A Celebration of Connie’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Randall. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services.

Connie was born March 15, 1938, in Hutchinson, MN, the daughter of Elman and Margaret (Baumitz) Filkins. In 1962, she married Tom Garlie in Winona. The couple made their home in Prior Lake, MN before moving to Lake Alexander near Cushing, MN. They retired to North Port, FL.

Connie enjoyed North Port because it combined two of her loves – water and boating. She also liked music and could often be found organizing and cooking for events at the Park in North Port. Connie cherished her dogs, but above all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

She will be missed by her husband, Tom; children, Lori (Mark), Scott (Beth), and Jeff (Melissa); nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
