Clyde "Rusty" Rust, 83, of Crosslake, died Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Essentia Health - St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Mission of the Cross Lutheran Church in Crosslake. Family and friends are invited to gather Friday evening from 5-7 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Private family interment at Pinewood Cemetery at later date.
Rusty was born June 1, 1930, in Hastings, MN, the son of Cecil and Emma (Rahrig) Rust. He served in the US Air Force for four years. He was a Sergeant stationed in Germany. For 38 years, Rusty worked as a Foreman for 3M. He was a member and served on the Executive Board at the Crosslake American Legion. Religion was an essential part of Rusty's life and enjoyed serving as an Elder at Mission of the Cross. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, cards and Bingo. Rusty cherished the time he was able to spend with his family and friends.
He will be missed by his son, Lyle (Julia), of Cottage Grove; grandchildren, Chad, Matthew, and Nathan Wilmes; great-grandchildren, Alexandria and Aidyn Wilmes; siblings, Delores, Cecil (June), and Robert (Joyce). He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores and his parents.
