Clayton Eckart

Clayton Sherwood Eckart, age 84, of Pequot Lakes, passed away at the St. Josephs Medical Center in Brainerd on Tuesday, June 5, 2007. Funeral Services are planned for Friday, June 8 at 11:00 am at the Pequot Lakes Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Whittemore officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 to 8 PM at the Baptist Church as well as one hour prior to service. Interment at Our Saviors Lutheran Cemetery in Pequot Lakes.
Clayton was born in Clarks Grove, MN to Julia Eckart. He spent most of his adult life in Waterloo, IA before moving to Pequot Lakes in 1976. Clayton was an active member of the Pequot Lakes Baptist Church. He was a lover of the outdoors, both fishing and hunting. He enjoyed feeding the animals. He was proud of his service in the US Marine Corps and was a member of both the Pequot Lakes American Legion and the Jenkins VFW.

Clayton is survived by his wife, Arline; children, David (Cathy) and Carol (David) Hora; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jennifer; and many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Merkedes and grandchildren, Bryan and Sandra.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Pequot Lakes Baptist Church Outreach.
