Clayton Closson

Clayton Warren Closson ,age 65, of Brainerd, died on December 14, 2009, peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife Judy and his two beautiful children. Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 19, 2009, at Bethel Lutheran Church, rural Brainerd. Friends are invited to gather with the family beginning at 10:00 AM Saturday at the Church. A second Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 22, 2009,at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 418 East Sumner Street, Northfield, MN, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM at the Church. Clayton was born on October 28, 1944 to Harold and Martha in Northfield, MN. Clayton graduated from Northfield High School in 1963. Clayton worked for Fair Price Foods, Culligan and ended his career at HyVee Foods in Fairbault, MN after 27 years. Clayton was united in marriage to Judy Drentlaw at St. Peters Lutheran Church September 1, 1962. The couple was blessed with two children, Paula and Tracy. Clayton enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood crafting, and NASCAR. Clayton is survived by his wife Judy; daughter, Paula (Pete) Behm of Stillwater, son,Tracy (Rebecca) Closson, of Northfield; five grandchildren Craig and Janna Rasmussen, Brandon Behm, and MacKenzie and Kelsie Closson; two sisters, Sharon (Dwight)) Dole, of WI and Judith (Edwin) Olson of Longville, MN; step-sister, Danielle (Steven) Noterman of Inver Grove Heights, MN; two brothers, Dennis (Glenda) Closson of Northfield and Tim (Michelle) Closson of OH; foster sister LaDonna (Floyd) VonBargen; nieces and nephews and many beautiful and wonderful friends. Clayton was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Martha. Clayton was truly loved and will be missed by all who were blessed to know him. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Fund. Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
