Clarice Ricke

Clarice Ricke, age 79, formerly of Staples, passed away Thursday afternoon at the Edina Care Center in Edina, MN of cancer. Funeral services will be Monday, November 8th, at 11AM at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Wadena, MN. Friends and relatives are invited to gather one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Motley Public Cemetery.

Clarice "Jollie" Ricke was born and raised in Bagley, MN. She graduated from Bagley High School in 1949. In September of 1949, she married Vernon Olson. They lived in Kansas City for a year and then returned to the twin cities area. In 1972, they moved to Motley, where she assisted Vern in the family plumbing business. She remained in the area after Vernon's death in 1990.

In 1995, Clarice remarried James Ricke. They lived in Motley and later moved to Staples. Clarice loved gardening, her flowers, sewing which included quilting. Her grandchildren were the love of her life. She will be remembered as a good cook, baker, and gardener.

Clarice is survived by her husband Jim Ricke; daughter, Sheryl Eastman (Joe); sons, Keith (Crystal) Olson and Chuck (Rachel) Olson; six grandchildren, Matthew Jensen (fiancé Michelle), Kristen Eastman, Brennan Olson, Brianna Olson, Elizabeth Olson, and Jacob Olson; two sister, Marrion Bergquist and Marge Josephson.

Arrangements are entrusted with the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Staples.
