Clarice Payne

Clarice A. Payne, age 65, of Staples, passed away Tuesday evening, January 20th, at the Lakewood Care Center in Staples. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 24, at the Assembly of God Church in Staples with Pastor Roy Miles officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Friday at the Assembly of God Church in Staples and for one hour prior to services at the Church on Saturday. Interment will be in Evergreen Hill Cemetery at Staples in the Spring.

Clarice Ann Payne was born on March 26, 1943, in Staples, MN, the daughter of Duane Sonnyand Arlene (Hagen) Payne. After graduating from Motley High School she began her lifelong career as a caregiver. She took care of her uncle and his children for many years as well as numerous other relatives and friends through out her life. Clarice loved to dance, sing Karaoke, and had a passion for collecting stuffed animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sonny and Arlene; baby daughter; brother, Quentin; step-father, Leo Guthrie; and very special chosen life partner, Bill Tiemens. Clarice will be lovingly missed by her brother, JD (Marilyn) Payne of Clearfield UT; 3 nieces; 2 nephews; and many relatives and good friends.
