Clarence Veith

Clarence J. Veith, 92, of Brainerd died on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. Services for Clarence will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 11:00AM at the St. Mathias Catholic Church will Father Steve LaFlamme officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from 4:00 -7:00 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the St. Mathias Cemetery with a dinner to follow at the Brenny Reception Hall in Baxter.

Clarence was born on September 29, 1918 in Belle Prairie, Minnesota to the late Anton and Clara (Tschida) Veith. He was united into marriage to Agnes Gohl, until her death at the age 0f 24. Clarence then moved to South St. Paul and worked for Swift Packing Company where he met Frances Kryzer. The couple was married until her death in 1994. Clarence retired from Swift Packing Company. During retirement attended a dancing event where he met and later married Erma Drorak. Clarence was a past member of Sacred Heart Church in Staples. He was a current member of St. Andrews Church of Brainerd.
Clarence enjoyed the Minnesota Twins, dancing, hunting, and fishing. He also loved old time music, gardening, and playing horseshoes. His family and friends will remember Clarence as a happy and very friendly man.

Clarence will be sadly missed by his wife, Erma; children, Mary Jane (Stuart) Weierke of Eagan, Richard (Shirley) Veith of South St. Paul, and Evelyn :"Evie" Naugle of Woodbury; a step-son; Wesley (Patty) Hovde of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin; sisters, Lucille (Victor) Boser of Little Falls and Lorranie Meyer of St. Cloud; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harold, Raymond, and Anton "Tony"; sister, Leona Meyer; one grandson, Jason Naugle.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
