Clarence Victor Resch, age 85, of Isanti, formerly of Staples, died October 18, 2007, at the Cambridge Medical Center in Cambridge, MN. Funeral service will be Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 11:00 am at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples with Pastor Gary Thorman officiating. Family will receive friends Friday evening from 5-7 at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples. Interment will be in the Motley Public Cemetery, Motley, MN.
Clarence Victor Resch was born Jan. 29, 1922, in Sandoval, IL, the son of John and Mary (Tinkham) Resch. He grew up in Illinois and Iowa, moving to Minnesota when he was about 15 years old. The family farmed and moved several times in the following years. He attended country school near Motley where he made many friends for life.
On June 6, 1942, he was united in marriage to Lois Williams in Pequot Lakes, MN. To this union 6 children were born. Clarence and Lois were able to share 65 years of marriage together. He farmed until he was 80 years old. In addition to farming he worked fro the railroad, box factory, and several other jobs. After selling the farm, Clarence and Lois moved to Isanti, MN, and for the past 2 ½ years Clarence has been at the Cambridge Heath Care Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary; sister, Genevieve Ludovissie; brothers, Anton and Jerome; and 2 great grandchildren. Clarence is mourned in passing by his wife Lois of Isanti; daughters, Cheryl (John) Anderson of Cambridge, Linda (Lowell) Blom of Monticello, and Benita (John) Tidgwell of North Branch; sons, Gary (Arlene) Resch of St. Cloud, Jack Resch of Motley, and Richard and (Linda) Resch of Barnum; 12 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and brothers, Eugene (Judy) Resch of Staples and Dale (Nancy) Resch of Cushing.
