Clarence Olson

Clarence H. ?Corky? Olson, age 67, of Nisswa, MN died Tuesday, October 9, 2001 at home.
He was born on December 27, 1933 in Belview, MN to Christ and Hazel (Kruckman) Olson. He graduated from Belview High School and entered the U. S. Army where he served from 1953 through 1955. Following his honorable discharge he married Audrey Hansen on December 11, 1956 in Russell, MN. They had four children, Bradley, Danette, David & Robert. He joined the Minnesota State Patrol in 1957. Audrey and Danette were killed in a car accident in 1969. Clarence married Barbara Campbell on March 14, 1970 in Skokie, IL. They had a daughter Deborah. The family moved to Nisswa in 1983. He retired from the Minnesota State Patrol in January of 1989. He was a member of the Nisswa American Legion and the Brainerd Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Deborah (Erick) Cloward of Eagan, MN; 3 sons, Bradley Olson of Mpls., MN, David (Jacque) of Watertown, MN, Robert (Cindy) Olson of Biwabik, MN; 1 brother Clifford of Redwood Falls, MN; 5 sisters, Amy Mennegar of Tacoma, WA, Viola Jordet of Sacred Heart, MN, Joan Grannes of Wood Lake, MN, Sonja Hoberg of Sauk Rapids, MN, Mary McBroom of Buckley, WA and 3 granddaughters, Lynda, Kate and Brenda. His 1st wife Audrey, daughter Danette, parents and a brother Harold preceded him in death.

In honor of his request there will be no funeral or memorial service. There will be a gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN from 1- 3 PM on Friday, October 12. At 3 PM there will be a brief prayer service. The family requests no flowers but that memorials be given to St. Joseph?s Home Care and Hospice.
