Clarence “Jake” Jacobson, age 84, of Pillager passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center. Jake’s memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 14, 2017 Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with a luncheon to follow in Brenny Funeral Chapel’s Reception Room. Interment will be at Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery near Little Falls.
Clarence Julius Jacobson was born January 23, 1933 in Pillager, to Christ and Lillie (Espe) Jacobson. He graduated from high school in Staples, and was inducted into the US Army in 1953. He served his country honorably for two years. He was united in marriage to Joanne Darbo on August 13, 1955, in Crosby. The couple moved to the Twin Cities, where Jake worked for Unisys for 35 years. In 2003, he and Joanne moved back to Pillager. Jake enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and searching for bargains at garage sales.
Left to remember and mourn Jake are Joanne, his loving wife of 61 years; three grandsons, David, Paul, and Matthew Kordiak; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Rae Lynn Kordiak; a son-in-law, Ed Kordiak; a sister, Ethel Tabery; and a brother, Wallace Jacobson.
