Clarence Aune

Clarence Joseph Aune, 79, of Brainerd, MN died at his home Friday, December 18, 2009. Services for Clarence will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 21, 2009 at Bethel Lutheran Church in rural Brainerd. Friends are welcome to gather Monday morning from 10 AM  noon at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Interment will follow services at the church on Monday at the Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Clarence was born March 22, 1930 in Vining, MN, the son of Peder and Alvira (Ellstrom) Aune. In 1948, he moved to Brainerd and began working for the Burlington Northern Railroad Shop. He enlisted in the US Navy. Following his honorable discharge, Clarence returned to Brainerd and resumed working for the railroad where he worked until 1991. Clarence also operated a family farm. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and the Brainerd American Legion. He and his wife, Donna taught firearm safety to the community youth for 18 years. Clarence also worked at the Crow Wing County Fair as a repair man. He enjoyed fishing, turkey and deer hunting, playing cards and farming.

Clarence will be missed by his wife, Donna; his children, JoAnn Aune, of Brainerd, Dayle (Paula) Aune, of Eagan, and Tim Aune, of Brainerd; seven grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Jeanette (Harold) Bachman, of Brainerd, Linda (Willard) Johnson, of Richville, MN, and Carol Klimek, of Battle Lake, MN; and his brother, Lloyd (Ruth) Aune, of Goodlettsville, TN.
