Clara Sophie Minssen was born on April 29, 1912 near Morrison, Illinois to Carl and Louise (Rosenow) Minssen. She attended elementary school at the ?Green? school (Illinois District 66) in Morrison. She graduated from Lyndon High School in 1931. On June 16, 1931 Clara married Albert J. Trapp of Randall who had taken temporary employment as a hand corn picker on the Minssen farm. Clara, with her husband and in later years, her son, farmed on the home farm in Parker Township, near Randall until she moved to St. Otto?s Care Center in 1998. Clara was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. Life for Clara was never easy but she handled everything with dignity and grace. She showed us the meaning of strength and self-preservation. She loved to solve crossword puzzles, keep records, and listen to or watch the Minnesota Twins. Clara was great to remember birthdays and anniversaries of many. She loved every creature fuzzy and fury.

Survivors include her sons, Albert C. Trapp & wife Lorna, of Columbia Heights, MN; and Conrad Trapp & wife, Bette of New Ulm, MN; brother Elmer Minssen & wife, Ann of Fulton, IL; 5 grandchildren: Cheryl Boe, Steven, Mark, David, and Michael Trapp, and 3 great-grandchildren: Elsa and Greta Boe, and Holliday Trapp; many nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Louise; husband, Albert J. Trapp, in 1982; son, Gerhart Trapp, in 1996; sister, Anna (Minssen) Belha, in 1986; and a brother, Arthur Minssen, in 1997.

To those who provided special comfort and care during the last months, we, as her loving family, express our profound gratitude. She was a blessing to those of us who knew and loved her and will be sincerely missed.
