Clairy Ocker

Clairy "Gene" Ocker, age 81, of Motley, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 7. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 16, at 1:00 P.M. at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples, with visitation time, one hour before the service.

"Gene" was born on April 8, 1930 to Floyd and Florence (Griffith) Ocker in Casselton, North Dakota. On June 27,1953 he married Ardess Czech in Delano, Minnesota. Gene was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and worked at Carter-Day Construction in Fridley Minnesota as a crane operator. In 1979 he moved to the Motley area from Wyoming Minnesota. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking projects.

"Gene" is survived by his wife Ardess, two sons; Dale Ocker of Ham Lake, Minnesota and David Ocker of Apache Junction, Arizona, two brothers; Manley (Clarene) Nichols, Roger Nichols, one sister; Opal Oldenburg; two grandchildren; Daniel Ocker and Kristin (Craig) Pike; three great-grandchildren; Jocelyn Ocker, Corrin Pike, and Gracia Pike.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Robert Nichols.
