Clairene Grillo

Clairene Grillo, 74, of Lakeshore, MN died at her home on Wednesday, February 15, 2017. Services for Clairene will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 1:00PM at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa, MN with visitation one hour prior to services at the church.

Clairene was born on June 20, 1942 in Thief River Falls, MN to Clarence and Bernice (Olson) Peterson. She graduated from Bemidji High School. Clairene married Daryl Gregg and following his death she then was united into marriage to Chuck “Gringo” Grillo on December 12, 1970. She and Chuck lived in Bemidji before moving to Apple Valley, MN. In 1996, they moved to Lakeshore, MN and spent their winters in Bagdad, FL. Gringo and Clairene owned and operated MN Hockey Camps in Nisswa, MN for over 40 years.

Clairene is survived by her husband, Chuck; children, Roby (Carol) Grillo of Canton, MI, Tracy (Tom Passeri) Wizner of Bemidji, MN, Chas (Tina Ward) Grillo of Nisswa, Denise (David) Langlais of Elk River, Rachel (Rick) Rondeau of Lake Elmo, and Dean (Carrie) Grillo of Nisswa; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Marlyce Olson, Marilyn Sorenson, and Carole Holmes. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to hartnelldown.com to help underserved children attend MN Hockey Camps and continue her legacy. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
