Christie Ann (Miller) Capps, 68, was born on Jan. 3, 1950 to Velma M. (King) Miller and Neil C. Miller, and passed away peacefully on Aug. 24, 2018 at The Lakes nursing facility in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Christie was born in Borger, Texas, and following her mother Velma’s death in 1960 lived with her father Neil, adoptive mother Barbara and brothers Todd and Bill in Indianapolis, Kansas City and Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Christie was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, and despite her lifelong struggle with her cerebral palsy could be counted upon to faithfully remember the important events in the lives and pray for the needs of friends and family, even those she had not been able to see in person in many years or ever. Christie received her bachelor’s degree from East Central Oklahoma State University and retired from employment in Oklahoma City with the Oklahoma Dept. of Human Services. Christie was preceded in death by her husband Carl Capps and by her parents Velma, Neil and Barbara. She is survived by Todd and his wife Maria of Richmond, TX, and their son, Chad; and by Bill and his wife Linda of Decatur, IL and their children: Lynneth, Leanna, Peggy and Peter; and by numerous cousins and extended family. Christie has been cremated, and her ashes will be interred with her mother Velma M. Miller at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Pine River.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, September 15, at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River, MN, for friends and family who are able to attend.
