Christian Jensen, 86, of Nisswa, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial is planned for 11 AM, Tuesday, December 15 at St. Christophers Catholic Church in Nisswa with Father George Zeck officiating. Friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 16. Memorials are preferred to Breath of Life or St. Christophers Catholic Church.
Chris was born July 23, 1923 in N.E. Minneapolis, MN, the son of Hans P. and Anna (Bergman) Jensen. Following his graduation from Edison High School, Chris enlisted in the US Navy and served his country from 1942 until 1946. He was united in marriage to Marcella MarcyIhnot in 1948. Chris worked for many years in food sales for Kraft Foods, National Foods and 8 OClock Coffee. When he retired in 1991, Chris and Marcy moved to Clark Lake where he was a resident until his death.
Chris was a member of St. Christophers Catholic Church in Nisswa, as well as a member of the Nisswa American Legion, Post 627 and the Jenkins VFW, Post 3839. He was also a member of the Nisswa Lions. Chris enjoyed playing cards, fishing, golfing and dancing. He was especially fond of spending time with his children and grandchildren. Chris loved his family.
Chris will be missed by his wife, Marcy; his children, Gayle (Jim) Gunnerson, of Crookston, Richard (Lisa) Jensen, of Inver Grove Heights, Chuck (Kathy) Jensen, of Blaine, and Bev (Chuck) Swanson, of Circle Pine; eight grandchildren, Troy, Andrea, Zack, Jenny, Scott, Mike, Chrissy, and C.J.; five great-grandchildren, Stella, Cole, Kylie, Anika, and Ariana; and his brother, Bob Jensen, of Crystal. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Scott; his daughter, Martha; two sisters, Ruth and Lillian; and two brothers, Al and Cliff.
