Chet Johnson

Chet Johnson, 80, of Baxter, died Monday, December 29, 2008 at North Memorial Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Services for Chet will be 2 PM, Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Faith Baptist Church in Brainerd, MN with Pastor James Goodhew officiating. Friends are welcome to gather beginning at 1:00 PM at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at Glen Haven Memorial Garden Cemetery in Crystal, MN.
Chet was born May, 1928 in Kirkhoven, MN, the son of David and Mabel (Brekken) Johnson. Chester attended college after he served in Germany from 1951  1953. He worked for more than 45 years as a mechanical engineer for Honeywell. He moved to the Brainerd Lakes Area in 1996. Chet enjoyed hunting, fishing and photography. He treasured spending time with his family and friends.

Chet will be missed by his children, Kathy, of Shakopee, MN, Linnae, of Rochester, MN, Penny, of Corcoran, MN, and Susan, of Elk River, MN; 14 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and sister, Vivian, of Buffalo, MN. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Deloris; his second wife, Carol Ann; and his parents.

Chets faith was corner stone of his beliefs & character. He was generous with his time & finances to support many ministries. As family, we would appreciate memorials to be addressed to MN Teen Challenge, Samaritans Purse, or Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry.
