Charline Miller

August 15, 1920 — January 22, 2005

Charline was born on August 15th, 1920 in Terrill, Iowa to Charles and Nellie (Michael) Cruse. She moved with her family as a child to central Minnesota where she grew up and graduated with the Pillager High School Class of 1938. On June 1st, 1941 she married Rodney W. Miller and spent her life as a wife, mother, helpmate and friend.
Charline and Rodney lived on a farm in rural Staples where she raised her family, helped with the farm work, raised a garden annually and above all else cherished her family. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed having, and subsequently feeding, company. She found much joy in writing poems and many of her friends have been blessed with a recitation on one or more of them. All who knew her will miss her, but they will also be glad that she has shed the burdens of this life and gone on to join her loved ones who have gone on ahead. Following a memorial service, to be announced at a later date, she will be buried next to Rodney in the Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples. The family requests that memorials be directed to the local Hospice Program and the Alzheimer?s unit being developed by the new Lakewood Health Systems expansion.

She is survived by her two daughters; Beth (Thomas) Yule of Flagstaff, AZ, and Janell Miller (Dennis Peterson) of Isanti, MN, four sons; Rodney David (Sharon) Miller of Mapleton, Gary (Dianne) Miller of Brainerd. Ross (Lori) Miller of Verndale, and Scott (Tammy) Miller of Staples, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, three brother-in-laws, three sister-in-laws as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Rodney in April of 1990, five sisters, a brother, an infant son, and a great grandson.
