Born Sept. 14, 1950 in Highland Park Ill. to Hilmer (Red) and Maryann Schweigert. He passed on to be with the Lord on April 21, 2013. He grew up on a resort in Lincoln, MN., graduated from Motley High School in Motley, MN. He then joined the army and was a member of the 101st Airborne when he served two tours in Vietnam. When he returned from the war he went through a rebellious time. He then went back to a trade that his father taught him, welding and iron work. He worked the Dakotas and Minnesota as an Iron Worker. He married Marsha Mayaski, to this union they had a son. They later divorced. He then met and married the love of his life, Brandy.
He was preceded in death by his mom, dad, granma's, granpa's, niece, and several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife Brandy, son Ryan, sister Kathy (Rich) Braun, Mary (Ken) Dukowitz, brothers David, Francis (Jeanne), and numerous nieces and nephews and Mattie the cat.
We want to thank all the people at the Fargo VA Hospital and the VA Hospice for all their wonderful work and for making Charlie feel so at home when he was there.
Mass of Christian burial will be on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at 2pm at St. Michael's Catholic Church, with Father Joe Korf officiating. Visitation will be 2 hours prior at the church. Burial will be at the Motley Public Cemetery.
