Charles E. Killian, 73, of Staples, MN made his last haul on earth Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Lakewood Health System Care Center. Services for Charles will be 11:00AM, Friday, August 24, 2018 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN with Pastor Daryl Jacobson officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30AM until the time of service. Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples, MN.
Charles was born November 26, 1944 in Staples, MN to Carl and Margaret (Towner) Killian. He went to school until 10th grade and then traveled around the US working odd jobs with his father, he worked for Sorenson Plumbing in Staples and was an Ironworker on the Iron Range for the Local 563. Charles started driving truck in the late 1960’s and bought his own trucks in 1977 and continued trucking until his retirement in 2008. Charles married Diane Killian on April 22, 1963, they later divorced in 1982. He married Luana “Loni” Killian on August 24, 1996. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the cabin and traveling. He especially loved spending time with all his grandchildren.
Charles is survived by his children, Sandi (Kevin) Robben, Lonny (Neila) Killian; grandchildren , Sheena (Bill) Otto, Brandon Breitenfeldt, Andrew (Jordan) Robben, Brady (Kaitlin) Killian, Kali (Collin) Shequen, Amber Shequen, Avery Killian; brothers, Elmer Killian, Keith Geer; brother-in-law, John Eckstrom; son-in-law, Harold Shequen; best friend, Rudy Bjerga, Jr; fishing buddy, John Wales; dogs, Stubby, Noonie; nephews, Yad and Shawn Killian; and many more nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Loni; step-daughter, Desiree Shequen; daughter-in-law, Lisa Killian; two brothers; two sisters; and father-in-law, Roy Eckstrom. Services have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
