Charles Franklin (Chuck) Dahl was born in Brainerd MN on October 12, 1925 to Elmer and Esther (Malmstrom) Dahl. He attended Washington High School, leaving at the end of his senior year to serve as a Naval airman in the Pacific theater of WWII. Chuck served proudly with VPB-109 (The Reluctant Raiders).
Returning to Brainerd after the war, Chuck went to work for Northwestern Bell Telephone and married Ella Greenwalt. Chuck and Ella were blessed with 72 years of marriage and three children. Over the years they raised their family at homes in Southeast and Northeast Brainerd and at Whipple Lake in Baxter. Then followed many happy retirement years in Daytona Beach, FL, with lots of visits from family and friends.
Chuck left this life for his heavenly home December 28, 2019 at Bethany Good Samaritan Nursing home in Brainerd, with his wife Ella at his side. He is survived by his wife Ella Dahl, daughters Connie Fordyce of Pillager, MN and Barbara (Craig) Magnan of Isle, MN, son Steven (Candace) Dahl of Dent, MN, sister Leona Cervin of Maple Grove, MN, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Elinor Witthoff, Lucille Schneider, and Marguerite Collins, and brother Clifford Dahl.
Chuck will be remembered for his deep faith, warm heart, considerate nature, and great hospitality.
A memorial service will be held 1:00PM, Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Brenny Funeral Home in Baxter, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior.
