Charles H. Brown, age 59, of Motley, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2008, near Pine River, MN, as the result of a four-wheeler accident. Memorial Services will be 5:00 PM Thursday, October 9, 2008, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Staples. Friends may gather to visit with the family beginning at 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Staples.
Charles Henry Brown was born on November 16, 1948, in Brainerd, MN, the son of Charles William and Dora (Magnan) Brown. He grew up in Motley and graduate from Motley High School in 1967. He married Joyce Johnson and to this union 2 children were born. Charles lived his whole life in Motley and was owner/operator of the local bait shop. In recent years he also operated a custodial engineer service. On October 24, 2003, He was united in marriage to Donna Snook. They were able to share almost 5 years of marriage together. Charlie was an outdoors enthusiast enjoying hunting, fishing, trapping, camping, and four wheeling. He was involved in several community-based activities and also loved to dance and play cards.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles William in 1990; a brother-in-law, Wilbur Snook; and sisters-in-law, Wilma Snook and Seretha Butterfield. Charlie will be deeply missed by his wife, Donna of Motley; mother, Dora Brown of Motley; children, Charlie (Tracy) Brown of Waverly, MN, Laurie Brown of St. Cloud, MN; step children, Floyd (Kris) Suhl of Verndale and Carla Murdock of Wadena; siblings, Steven (Sis) Brown of Pillager, Joan Dickman of Seattle, WA, Peggy (Ronnie) Graham of Anchorage, AK, and Glenn (Mary) Brown of Brainerd, MN; brothers-in-law, Charles Snook of Erdahl, MN, Martin Snook of Ham Lake, MN, and Walter (Kathy) Snook of Clitheral, MN; sisters-in-law, Thelma of Belton, MO, Harriett Litchfield of Sebeka, MN, Ethel (Dave) Sherry of Apex, NC, Susie Koepke of Luck, WI, and Marcy (Charles) Beatty of Brooklyn Park, MN; mother of his children, Joyce Johnson of Aitkin, MN; 7 grandchildren, Charese Brown, Eric Platzer, Tyler and Rae-Lin Suhl, and Jaeger, Dalton, and Harley Murdock; and several nieces and nephews.
