Cecilia Kempenich

Cecilia Mary Kempenich, 80, of Randall, died Thursday, May 1, 2013 at Epiphany Assisted Living in Coon Rapids. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM, Monday, May 6 at St. James Catholic Church in Randall. Family and friends are invited to gather Sunday afternoon from 2-4 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Randall and one hour prior to Mass on Monday at the church. Interment will take place in St. James Catholic Cemetery.

Cecilia was born September 3, 1932, in Randall, the daughter of Frank and Christine (Bentler) Andres. She graduated from St. Francis High School and in 1953, she was united in marriage to Jerome Kempenich. She and Jerry operated the family farm and she was also a homemaker. Cecilia's faith was important and she was an active member of St. James Catholic Church where she participated in Christian Mothers, Mission Circle, and taught religious education for many years. She often volunteered for community events and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Cecilia liked to garden, sew, and play cards. She cherished time she could spend with her family.

She will be missed by her children, Robert (Cheryl), of New York Mills, Joe (Chris), of Sebeka, John (Bev), of Randall, JoAnne (Dave) Rausch, of Long Prairie, Mary (Perry) Dykes, of Byron, Larry, of Hutchinson, Carol (Todd) Conrad, of Maple Grove, and Joyce (Brian) Ringwelski, of Des Moines, IA; 22 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Don Andres, Jim Andres, Walt Andres, Bob Andres, Christine Lucy, Charlie Andres, and Frank Andres. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome; parents; daughter, Barb; brother, Richard; sister, Pat; granddaughter, Amanda; and great-granddaughter, Abigail.
