Cecil Enlund, 79, of Brainerd, passed away at his home, on Monday, March 28, 2011, after a courageous battle of renal disease. Visitation will be on Friday, April 1st, from 5 to 7pm at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 2 at 2 pm at First Lutheran Church, 424 South 8th Street, Brainerd, with Reverend Kristin Oltmann officiating. Friends may gather with the family at the church from 1 pm, until the time of services. Burial will be at Freedhem Cemetery. Memorials preferred.
Cecil Erland Enlund was born to Arthur and Agusta (Kronbeck) Enlund on November 5, 1931 in Little Falls, MN. He served in the Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. Cecil was united in marriage to Judith Svir on November 30, 1957, at First Lutheran Church, Brainerd.
He is survived by Judith, his wife of over 53 years; daughter, Debra (Michael) Harne of Pillager; sons, Craig (Terri) Enlund, of Oakdale, and Brad (Brenda) Enlund, of Brainerd;
sister, Vella Zimbrick, of Brooklyn Center; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Signa Antonson, Lucille DeLaHunt, and Nettie Grassono; and brothers, Ralph, Lester, Ray and Cedric Enlund.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
