Catherine Osterloh

Catherine Ann (Rathvon) Osterloh, age 72, of Pine River, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at the St. Cloud Hospital. She was born to Wesley and Patricia Rathvon in Brainerd, MN, on February 7, 1947. She grew up in Deerwood, MN, and graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School. Cathy and Jerry were united in marriage on Nov. 13, 1976 and had just celebrated their 43rd anniversary. They were married and spent their first years in Hackensack. In 1979 they moved to Pine River. Over the years they were able to travel to many places around the world including Ireland to visit James, who they hosted through the Children of Ireland program. To James, Cathy was his “American mom.” Cathy enjoyed many different things over the years including church activities, crafting, thrifting, visiting and having tea with her lady friends. Her three cats, Sweetie, Harry and Willie were especially important to her as was watching and feeding the birds, particularly cardinals and the sound of loons calling. Her greatest loves were her Catholic faith, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and her husband, Jerry. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Jerry; sons, Joe Osterloh, Dan Osterloh (Carrie); stepdaughters, Lori Swenson (Tim), Jill Ackerman (Bob); grandchildren: Emily, Aaron, Beniam, Daniel, Joanna, Jana, Miles and Madison Osterloh; Zachary Swenson (Brittney), Sarah Hanson (Sam), Jamie LeMahieu (Grant), Jordan Ackerman, Autumn Loge (Drey), Nick Ackerman; great grandchildren: Quinn and Brooke Swenson, Holly Hanson, Adley Loge, Owen LeMahieu; and brothers-in-law, Rod Osterloh (Jody) and Corwin Osterloh (Arvie). She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Andrew Osterloh.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM on Tuesday, November 26, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Pine River. Visitation will begin at 10 AM.
