Catherine Hoffman

Catherine "Cathy" J. (Nesvik) Hoffman, 61, of Cushing died on Friday, November 29, 2013 at HCMC in Minneapolis, MN. A Celebration of Life for Cathy will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 11:00 AM, at Motley United Methodist Church, with Pastor Greg Ciesluk officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 5-7 PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.

Cathy was born on July 9, 1952 in Spirit Lake, Iowa to Duane and Betty (Lowe) Nesvik. She grew up and graduated from Spirit Lake High School. Cathy married Wayne Hoffman on December 22, 1972 and together they had three children. Cathy was employed at Tri County Livestock Auction as an Office Manager and was a partner in Tri County Cattle Company, until her death. She was very active with P.A.W.S., the Humane Society of the United States, Best Friends Sanctuary in UT; she especially loved to spend time with her cats, loved birds, flower gardens, boat rides on the lake and the outdoors.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Wayne; children, Justin Hoffman, Jennifer Hoffman (Tim Morrow), Julie Hoffman all of Motley; sister, Florence Doner of Tucson, AZ, brother, Don Nesvik of Greeley, CO; close family friend and almost like a mother to Cathy, Iris Jares of Minneapolis, MN; her cats, Apollo and Squeaky. She was preceded in death by her parents.
