Casimer Sobiech

Casimer P. Sobiech, 93, of Pequot Lakes, was laid to rest Monday, May 5, 2014 at Essentia Health – St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 8, 2014 at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Nisswa with Father Michael Patullo officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services. Interment will take place at Lake Edward Cemetery near Merrifield.

Casimer was born September 9, 1920, in Little Falls, MN, the son of Blaise and Mary (Rietzka) Sobiech. Following school, he enlisted in the US Army before starting his career at Superior Plating in St. Paul. In 1953, he was united in marriage to Edith Lease. The couple made their home in the Twin Cities Metro Area before they retired to Pequot Lakes. Casy was a member of the Pequot Lakes American Legion.

Casy will be missed by his son Eugene Sobieck, of Brainerd; daughters, Carol (David) Fogel, of Brainerd and Cindy Lease, of Wilmont; one grandson; four granddaughters; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith; parents; daughter, Julie Schneider; brothers, Louie, John, and Paul; and sisters, Wanda Tabatt, Hattie Gustafson, Sister Teresita Sobiech, Lucy Gustafson, and Josie Hurst.
