Caryn Peterson

Caryn Janel (Spreeman) Peterson, (age 62) of Baxter, MN, died peacefully on Monday, June 8, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. A celebration of Caryn’s life will be held at 1PM on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.

Caryn was born February 13, 1958 to Roger and Rosemary (Dupslaff) Spreeman in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She is a graduate of Brainerd High School; following high school Caryn obtained her cosmetology license.  Caryn enjoyed being a hairdresser when she lived in Utah, making people feel good inside and out. She continued her education at the age of 39 obtaining her master’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling; Caryn worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for 16 years.  She met and married Gary Peterson on September 21, 2013 in Baxter; their relationship began with a friendship and dancing.  Caryn enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and entertaining guests at her home.  She was a feisty, loving, free spirit; who took great pride in the work she did.  Caryn will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Caryn is survived by her husband, Gary Peterson; daughter, Jody Spreeman; father, Roger Spreeman; brother, Trent Spreeman; stepdaughters, Jennifer Grunewald, Kari Roberts, Andrene (Joshua) Crook; stepson, Gregg (Sarah) Peterson; niece, Trisha; nephews, Tyler and Trey; 19 step-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren and greatly anticipated the birth of her 6 ^th step-great grandchild in October. She is preceded in death by her mother, Rosemary; and brother, Brian.
