Carrie Fairbanks

Carrie Lynn Fairbanks, 60, of Breezy Point, MN, joined the spirit world on Friday, March 31, 2017. Services will be held Sunday, April 9 at 2:00 PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Pequot Lakes. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to services. Interment will take place at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Carrie was born February 13, 1957, in Minneapolis, the daughter, of John G. Fairbanks, Sr. and Marlene Dupree. She has lived in the area for 25 years and has loved her guests while working at Northern Lights Casino the last 17 years. She was a proud member of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe. She enjoyed fishing, reading and the reality show, Survivor. Carrie loved animals – especially horses and her dogs, Darla and Spanky. She was a hard worker, but nothing was more important to her than her family.

She will be deeply missed by her mom, Marlene Dupree, of Nisswa; children, Marlene (Steve) Backes, of San Jose, CA and Jennifer Fairbanks, of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers, John (Lorey) Fairbanks, of Leech Lake and Mike (Lynn) Fairbanks, of Nisswa; many nieces and nephews, friends and coworkers. She was preceded in death by her father and brother, Patrick.
