Carolyn "Kay" Wilske

October 30, 1932 — March 20, 2021

Carolyn Mae “Kay” Wilske, our Wife, Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma, got her Angel Wings on March 20, 2021 after a courageous and long struggle with COPD, heart/kidney failure and finally, dementia.

Kay leaves behind her husband of 50 years, Richard Wilske and four surviving children and their families: Robbie and Taren Saccoman, grandchildren, Maranda Saccoman (Nicole) and Sara Saccoman, step grandchildren, Cody Gardner (Caitlin) and Tyler Gardner (Kim); Paula and Arthur Schaub, grandchildren, Megan Loukota (Jake), Lexie Waa (Jim), great grandchildren: Asa, Zacharia, Grace, Jairden, Joe, Claire, Eleanore, and Andrew; Jeff Wilske; Joni Berglund (Doug), grandchildren, Dylan and Taylor; daughter-in-law, Jane Saccoman and granddaughter, Hayley; sister, Jan Hietala niece, Joleen Saccoman Dudley; nephew, Mark Saccoman (Michele); and MANY FRIENDS. She was preceded in death by her sons, Michael and Steven Saccoman; parents, Evelyn and John Carlson; brother-in-law, Errol Heitala; niece, Gina Marie Saccoman; and nephew, Charlie Saccoman.

Kay was an Ideal Fire Department Dispatcher for 30 years.  She was an active member with Glenda’s Clown Troop of Pequot Lakes for many years.  They attended parades and social functions to make people laugh and smile.  She really was a natural at it!  Think rainbow colored hair and a water squirting flower on her lapel.  Kay was an avid fisherwoman, snowmobiler, and four-wheeler who never passed up a mud puddle when wheeling.  She loved her kids and grandchildren unconditionally.  She was an avid quilter, sewer, and knitter, making quilts for all the family members (and some others too) in her retirement years.  Kay also made many layettes for the babies at Immaculate Heart Church in Crosslake, of which she was member the past 11 years.  Traveling the Caribbean Islands with good friends (too many to mention) was her passion.  She loved to travel and made GOOD lifelong friends wherever she went.  She was the life of the party and never passed one up.

Join us for her funeral services on Monday, April 19 at Immaculate Heart Church in Crosslake.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 am followed by Mass at 11:00 am.  There will be lunch at the Ideal Town Hall afterwards.

A memorial will be established and memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.

A Celebration of Kay’s life will be held at a later date, so all her friends can gather and share the JOY of knowing her.  SHE LOVED YOU ALL!
