Caroline A. (Holmes) Anderson, of Baxter, MN, passed away peacefully, October 8, 2018 surrounded by her family at Essentia Health – St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd.
Caroline was born September 27, 1926, in Avon, MN. She grew up in Pine Center and graduated from Onamia High School in 1944. She married William Anderson in 1949 at Holy Family Church at Bulldog Lake. The couple resided in Minneapolis until 1987 when they retired to Baxter. They were married for 69 years.
Caroline worked hard raising her children. Later, she also worked at the Minneapolis Public Library, Science Museum, and Planetarium. She was an extraordinary hand quilter and gardener. She was an active member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in North Minneapolis.
She is survived by her loving husband, William; son, Steve (Anne); granddaughters, Marnna, Nicole (Paul), Lauren, and Adrienne; great-grandchildren, Evan and Avy; sister, Julia; and sister-in-law, Kay. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joanne; parents, Claude and Constance Holmes; sister, Irene; and brothers, Raymond and Cyril.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 15, 2018 at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Nisswa. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to services. Fr. Mike Patullo will officiate.
Memorials are preferred to Second Harvest North Central Food Bank (Grand Rapids, 55744) or Our Lady of the Lakes Parish (Pequot Lakes, 56472).
