Carol Evelyn McChesney, age 87 of Cross Lake, formerly of Robbinsdale, entered her new life on August 14, 2016. She was born in Ramsey County, MN on July 25, 1929, the only child of William B. and Cora Sparby. She attended Henry High School where she developed life long friendships and the U of MN. She was a loving and fun mother of her two children and worked at Dayton's Brookdale, and retired from US West. An active member at Crosslake Lutheran Church; stamping, card club, Jul Fest (lefse maker extraordinaire) WELCA, Inreach, Bible Study, and Diner's Club. She was also a member of the Nisswa Garden Club and a Gourmet Club with good friends for many years. She was a creative seamstress and talented in most handiwork. Her summer weekends were spent on Elk Lake with three generations of family for over forty years. She loved to fish, take walks, golf and spend time with her friends. She spent winters in Cape Coral and Palm Harbor where the golf continued. She was also active in the Robbinsdale Shrine Club where her husband, Jack served as President in 1981. She founded the Women's Auxiliary to Shriners Children Hospitals. She and Jack loved traveling the USA and many parts of the world.
Carole married John (Jack) McChesney October 22, 1948 and has two children, Karen (Howe) and David.
Proceeded in death by her parents, William and Cora Sparby, several Aunts & Uncles, Cousins and many co-workers and friends.
Survived by John (Jack) R. McChesney, Children: Karen (Tom Howe), David (Lora) McChesney, Grandchildren: Jon Howe (Ena Chang), Elizabeth Sand, Andrew McChesney (Amy), Kelsey McChesney (Ian McPherson-Higdon); and seven great-grandchildren.
