Carole Gunderson

Carole Gunderson, 67, of Backus, passed away Friday, June 25, 2010, at the Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples. She was married to Russel Gunderson on June 24, 1961. Russel passed away on February 4, 2006. Carole will be greatly missed by her seven children: David Gunderson, Tammy (Chris) Watson, Kelly Gunderson, Tracy (David) Smith, Peggy (John) Karnowski, Kevin Gunderson, and Candy (Aaron) Gunderson; grandchildren: Jessica (Corey), Joshua (Jenny), and Ryan Watson, Ashley, Nathan (Cortni), and Tiffany Smith, Aaron, Bethany and Rachel Karnowski, Austin and Alison Gulley and April DeWinter; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Olivia; sister, Amy Wilcox; brother, Verne (Marjo) Hubbell; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.



When Carole was healthy she enjoyed playing the piano, organ and accordion, and singing praises to her Savior. She was actively involved in Alcoholics Anonymous and enjoyed mentoring others on their journey to freedom from alcohol and drug abuse. She celebrated 36 years of sobriety recently!



Services will be 3:00 PM on Thursday, July 1, 2010, at Mildred Bible Chapel, Backus, with Pastor Tim Walker officiating. Visitation will take place from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
