Carol Stenson

Carol Stenson Campion, 78, of Baxter, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at her home. Services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wright, MN with Pastor Darrell Pederson and Pastor Brandi Hacker officiating and a visitation one hour prior. Friends are welcome to visit Tuesday evening from 5-7 PM at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Baxter, MN with a memorial service at 7:00 PM.
Carol was born July 2, 1930 in Duluth, MN, the daughter of Earnest and Alice (Abernethy) Mowers. After graduating from Cromwell High School, she was united in marriage to Allan Stenson. The family lived in Wright, MN until 1973 when Carol moved to Burnsville following Allans death. In 1974 she married Dick Campion. After Dick passed away, Carol made another move, this time to Brainerd in 1998.

Carol loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. As a young woman, Carol was very proud of her civic accomplishments and liked to promote pride in her town and was always willing to lend a hand. Carol courageously battled cancer for 16 years and would have been 79 this July.

Carol will be missed by her children, Diane Larson, David (Rebecca) Stenson, Dan Stenson, and Huffer (Laurie) Stenson; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five step-children, Rick (Karen) Campion, Cyndi (Bob) Kraft, Donnie (Wendy) Campion, Kay Falcioni, and Scott Campion; six step-grandchildren; and siblings, Gerald (Edna) Mowers, Raymond (Kathleen) Mowers, Audre Goranson, and Faye (Bob) Topliff. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Allan; and her husband, Dick.
