September 16, 1943 — November 5, 2009

Carol McDonald, age 66, of Motley, passed away November 5, 2009, at the Lakewood Health System in Staples following a long, courageous battle with cancer. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM Monday, November 9, 2009, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter. Friends are invited to gather beginning at 10:00 AM at the Chapel. Private family interment will be at a later date in Prairie Cemetery at New York Mills, MN.
Carol Lee McDonald was born on September 16, 1943, in Hibbing, MN, the daughter of James Patrick and Leona (Lantman) McDonald. She graduated from Cherry High School, Cherry, MN, in 1962. Following her schooling she enlisted in the Army WAC Communication Core, honorably serving her country until July of 1967. Returning to Minnesota she worked as a nurses assistant and also at an electronic corporation in Hibbing for several years. The family moved to Brainerd in the late 1980s where she continued to work in the healthcare system as a home health assistant until moving to Motley. Carols passion, besides her family, was quilting. She also enjoyed crafts and handiwork.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Leona McDonald; brother, John McDonald; sister, Betty Mason; and grandson, Levi. Carol will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her life partner, Avron Snabb of Motley; daughter, Melissa (Gary) Cruikshank of Merrifield; grandchildren, Chancey, Brandi, Kacee, and Trace; great grandchild, ReeAnna and one more on the way; sister, Patricia McCutcheon of Hibbing, MN; brothers, James (Bonnie) McDonald and Jerry McDonald all of Hibbing, MN; and brother-in-law, James Mason of Danube, MN.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
