Carol B. (Schroeder) Hulett a 95-year-old resident of Leader passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Staples Care Center. Services for Carol will be held 11am on Monday May 8th at the Motley Free Methodist Church. Visitation will begin one hour prior.
She was born in Staples Minnesota on September 28, 1927, to Edward and Marie (Matthews) Schroeder. She married Eugene Hulett on February 12, 1947. Carol enjoyed her garden and canning from it. She also crocheted, liked to read and do puzzles. Carol went cross-county skiing until she was in her eighties. She loved feeding the many different birds but had a running battle with the squirrels and black bears. She was a member of the Poplar Ladies Birthday Club, which helps with the upkeep of the Cemetery. She took part in the programs held there for many years. She was a very good sewer and made many quilts that she gave away to family and friends. She loved being a mother and especially loved being a grandma. She always had a smile for everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Carol is survived by her children Linda (Tom) Michalson, Larry (Jean) Hulett and Loreli (Harley) Alexander; eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Eugene; son Lance; siblings Bud Schroeder, Norm Schroeder, Bill Schroeder, Lois Hoveland.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Staples.
