Carol Fredrickson

July 23, 1922 — December 19, 2010

Carol Jean Fredrickson, 88, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Maranatha Care Center in Brooklyn Park, MN.

Carol was born July 23, 1922, in Northfield, MN, the daughter of Oscar Youngquist and Clara Berth (Lieder) Youngquist. Carol grew up in Faribault, graduated from St Olaf College, was dedicated to education and taught in the St. Paul Public Schools for over 40 years. She and her husband, Ralph spent their retirement in Florida and a number of years summering in the Lakes Area before moving to Lakeshore around 1998.
Carol shared her life-long love of music with family and friends. In college she was in the St. Olaf Choir and later directed church choirs. During her years in Florida she directed a dedicated group of volunteers called the "Del Tura Choralaires". She enjoyed keeping in touch with family and cherished friends through cards and letters.
Playing the piano, reading a good book, playing a round of golf or traveling to over 40 states by car, Carol was always busy enjoying life to it's fullest.

Carol will be missed by her step-sons, Alan Fredrickson; her ex-daughter-in-law, DeeJay Fredrickson, their daughter Laura and her partner Marisol Morales; Eric (Barb) Fredrickson and their sons Kirk, Christian and Tommy; and her daughter, Mary (Herb) Greenberg and their children Emily and Andrew. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gorden Oldenberg and her second husband, Ralph Fredrickson.

A celebration of her life will be planned for summer 2011.

Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
