Carl Jepperson, Jr., age 75, of Pine River, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at his home. He was born in Pequot Lakes to Carl and Frances Jepperson on August 16, 1936. He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1957. Carl owned and operated the Long Pine Store for 27 years and Long Pine Excavating for 24 years. He founded the Ponto Knight Riders Snowmobile Club and was responsible for getting the Aspen Trail built. He also groomed several snowmobile trails.
Carl is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judy; sisters, Ruby Jepperson of Brainerd, and Marie Windsor (Don) of Gaithersburg, Maryland; four nieces, one nephew and many great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gloria and Rodney Romine, Opal and Charles Schumacher, and one niece, Carolyn Romine.
Services will be 11 AM on Saturday, February 4, at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River, with Pastor John Rister officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Ponto Lake Cemetery.
