Bruce Reimann

April 6, 1946 — January 29, 2013

Bruce Alan Reimann, 66, of Aitkin, died on January 29, 2013 at his home after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born to Robert and Harriet (Johnson) Reimann on April 6, 1946 in Minneapolis, MN. He grew up in Columbia Heights on Polk Street NE and graduated from Columbia Heights High School in 1964. In 1962 he participated in the Minneapolis Aquatennial Explorer By Scout Canoe Derby-a 7 day 450 mile canoe trip down the Mississippi River to Minneapolis. On October 19, 1968 Bruce married the love of his life, Kathy Fransen. He served his country in the Naval Air Reserves from 1966-1972. Bruce graduated from Anoka Ramsey community College, St. Cloud State College and received an MBA from the University of St. Thomas. He was also active in the Twin Cities Purchasing Management Association that culminated by serving a term as its president. After moving to Dam Lake, Bruce served on the Kimberly Town Board, was a member of the American Legion, participated in the community Bible Study and was active in Bethesda Lutheran Church of Rossburg.

Bruce was dedicated to spending quality time with his family and friends. He enjoyed a 14 year love of running and competing in races-5 Ks, 10 Ks, and 7 marathons including Grandma's and the Twin Cities marathons. Bruce has now left us to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Harriet Reimann and his faithful dog, Mariah.

Bruce is survived by and will be deeply missed by Kathy Reimann, his wife of 44 years and their gentle giant dog, Bella. His children, Amy and Scott Reimann, and precious daughter-in-law, Christy. His grandchildren, Cohen Claus and Lola Lou. His brothers: Richard, Gary (Beverly), Lloyd (Carol), 13 nephews and nieces and other extended family and many friends.

His Memorial Service will be Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the First Lutheran Church in Aitkin, 107 Second Street SE, Aitkin, MN 218-927-2028. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Sandy Berg-Holte, pastor from Bruce and Kathy's church, Bethesda Lutheran in Rossburg will conduct the memorial service. Interment will be at a later date at West Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Grove, MN. In lieu of memorials or flowers, donations to the Ronald McDonald House 818 Fulton St. SE Minneapolis, MN 55414 is preferred. Birth is a beginning. Life is a journey. Death is a destination. God Bless you Bruce! You've finished your last race on earth.
